Beyza Ateş received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Middle East Technical University in 2002. She completed her master's and Ph.D. degrees in Developmental Psychology in 2009 and 2016 at Koç University. She is the founder and the director of Bilişsel Akademi Lab and KULE Gelişim Akademisi and an assistant professor of Psychology at MEF University, İstanbul, Turkey. Her research interests include academic, cognitive, and language development, referential communication, vocabulary acquisition, literacy development, and early childhood care and education quality. She works on babies', toddlers', and preschoolers' development using experimental and naturalistic methods and focusing on Bronfenbrenner's distinct developmental ecologies. Using a scientific approach and creative drama techniques, she designs various pieces of training for caregivers, including parents and teachers, on child development based on her experience as a researcher, developmental psychologist, observer, and trainer of Pre-K CLASS®.https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8684-3006

Tuna Çakar graduated from Biological Sciences and Bioengineering Program of Sabancı University in 2004. He has worked on the 3-D modelling of proteins with perturbation technique in his undergraduate thesis project. He received his master's degree from Cognitive Science Program at Boğaziçi University in 2009. In his master thesis, he worked on the skin conductance and pulse rate methods in order to understand emotional processes of humans.

Tuna Çakar obtained his Ph.D. from Cognitive Science Program at the Informatics Institute in Middle East Technical University in 2015. In his thesis, he has worked on the identity judgments and he performed several different models including mathematical, neurophysiological (EEG/ERP, optic brain imaging) and biometrics (Eye-tracker) in order to understand the decision-making processes at various levels. Dr. Çakar is currently working on the applied neuroscience field with sector-specific and academic projects. In February 2017, he joined MEF University as an assistant professor.

Dr. Cemile Ceren SÖNMEZ

Dr. Cemile Ceren Sönmez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Koç University. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, NY, USA in 2020 and completed her clinical internship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Afterward, she pursued postdoctoral studies at Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School. Dr. Sönmez has expertise in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, personality disorders, and suicidal and self-harming behaviors. She has received training in a variety of modalities, including behavioral and psychodynamic orientations, but primarily practices third-wave cognitive behavioural therapies (such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Interpersonal Therapy. Dr. Sönmez’ research interests lie in the field of Global Mental Health, and focus on the factors that affect the diagnosis and dissemination of evidence-based therapies for depression and anxiety in low-income or resource-poor countries. Recently, her research has been centered on maternal/caregiver mental health, a priority area in improving global mental health.

Dr. Neslihan Turnalar ÇETİNKAYA

Neslihan Turnalar Çetinkaya graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Psychology in 2004,  followed by a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Koç University and a PhD in  Organizational Behavior at Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences. After completing her master's  degree, she worked in different positions in different multinational companies. Her areas of expertise range  from organizational development, training and development, human resources practices, sales, brand  management, communication, and digital marketing. Her main research interests are positive  organizational psychology and entrepreneurial psychology. She provides consultancy services to  organizations of different scales and has been working full-time at MEF University as of 2019.

Dr. Aliye Canan TAŞLIOĞLU SAYINER

Psychologist Aliye Canan Taşlıoğlu Sayıner works as a lecturer in the Psychology Department at MEF University. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and her master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Vienna, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Health Sciences University. During her graduate education, she involved in various scientific research projects as a researcher at the University of Vienna and the University of Groningen. Her expertise lies in the areas of child and adolescent psychology,  and she has completed accredited trainings in Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Relationship Therapy, as well as an International Relationships and Family Studies Certificate Program and and applies these techniques to her practice with clients. Her research focuses on the impact of childhood experiences on adult relationships and psychological well-being. She is also interested in exploring the efficacy of personalized ecological momentary assessments and interventions.
